If you have any difficult to find ancestors, post them in here so that others might help you find them. My brick wall is in my Combs and Fuller lines. I cannot find Martha Combs, mother of Green Fuller b 1875, s/o Elijah Bunt Fuller b 1845. Martha was born about 1858 NC. Don't know her parents, but Elijah Bunt Fuller was s/o Green Fuller 1790 NC and possibly Elizabeth Messer. The family lived in Knott and Pike Counties, KY. Elijah Bunt Fuller and wife were found in the 1850 census. I believe he was the son of Jesse Fuller. Possible sister of Green Fuller 1790 was Elizabeth Fuller. Children of Green Fuller 1790 and wife; Archibald, Robert, Leviticus, Elijah, Mary and Martha. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ........................My brick wall is with the family of Edward W. Lane and Bethany Jane Palmer Lane, (my grandparents). Edward was from N.C. according to records we have pieced together and Bethany was born in Roda, Virginia. They were married in Inman, Virginia and had the following children: Edward W. Lane, Jr., Ella Mae Lane, Woodrow W. Lane, Robert E. Lee Lane, James E. Lane and Arthur Perry Lane (my father). Bethany's mother and father were Nannie and Pete (some called him Indian Pete as he was purportedly full blood) Palmer. My grandmother certainly looked the part of Am. Indian with swarthy, dark complexion, black/brown eyes and long straight black hair. I know nothing of Edward W. Lane, Sr., (my grandfather) family from N.C. I even made a trip to the court house and historical society in Wise County, Va. but found nothing. As I recall my grandmother Bethany telling me, she grew up in the coal camps so I assume that means her father worked within the coal mining industry in some way........perhaps just a common laborer or perhaps a merchant at the company store. Any insight would be helpful; any possible link or anything you might have. Thanks and happy hunting......Carol (Lane) Lentz

My ggrandfather was Randolph Bentley, nicknames were either Dolph or Doff. He was married to Hannah Yonts. His parents were Alex (or Elex or Eleck) Bentley and Elizabeth Carter. This is where the brick wall is. I cannot find anymore information on Alex and Elizabeth.

Hello Annette and everyone, My brick wall is trying to find Wib or Wilbur Moore who was my gg-grandfather and lived either in Kentucky or Virginia and died/was killed in 1891, six months before his daughter my g-grandmother Eliza Jane Moore-Johnson-Mullins was born. I found a Wid Moore listed under the Pound Gap murders/killings killed by Ed Hall but there is not a year listed. Wib was apparently 1/2 or more Native American. Eliza Jane's mother was Jamima (mima) Robinson-Harris-Moore-Osborne. My grandparents were Morgan and Mellie (Mella Johnson) Mullins. Mellie was Eliza's daughter and Morgan was Solomon Mullins son. Eliza and Solomon married late in life after both were widowed. If any one can help me find the missing piece that is Wib Moore I would truly appreciate it. Sincerely, Melody

Another brick in the wall...
Hello everyone. I am adopted and found out just recently my biological heritage after a long search by social services.
My Biological mother was Clara Arbutus Fleming. She was also a Mullins and Smith by marriage.
Her parents were Willie Banner Fleming and Lady Jane Moore.
I have a couple questions:
1. Does anyone have any more information on Lady Jane Moore? I'd like to start tracing down that side of my mother's tree.
2. I am an identical twin. Clara gave birth to my brother and I on 9/28/1965. I am trying to find information as to who my biological father was as this is still a mystery.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

William Gilmore Smith is my brick wall. Records so far state that he was born about 1790's to 1800 in Virginia maybe in Russell County Virginia. He married Agnes Aggy Sloan in 1819 in Floyd County which is in Pike County now. They had a son Aaron. But Tax records show after the 1820's that he moved to Logan County Virginia and died some time before 1831. Who did Aaron live with in Pike County if he mother lived & remarried in Logan County Virginia? So if anyone has any information please contact me thank you so much for your time in this matter.. My grandmother when I was young told me that she thought William's father may have been named Isaac from Russell County but no records as of this date.

I'm trying to get my line verified to Nimrod Taylor, Sr. so have proofs for DAR membership. I need more information on Mary (Polly) Taylor, daughter of William Taylor, son or Nimrod, Sr. At this point the Cecil's and Flanery's (also spelled Flanary or Flannary)get intermingled and I need to find a LUCINDA either Cecil or Flanery (or 2 people, 1 with each last name). Apparently there are at least two Silas Flanery men involved as well. Lucinda's daugher Laura Ann Turner, daughter of Lucinda and Pleasant Turner is my Great-great Grandmother on my Dad's side born 1867 in Owsley Co., Ky. and married in Estill Co., KY. and died in DeKalb Co, Missouri near St. Joseph, MO. Febr. 20, 1943. I have info on Nimrod Sr. line back to John Taylor Sr. born 8-10-1607 in Carlisle, Eng, died 1651 in VA, wife Elizabeth Born 1612. His father and grandfather Thomas Taylor Jr. and Sr. and his father Rowland Taylor born 1523 to John Taylor born 1478 in Rothbury, Northumberland, Eng. His wife Susan Rowland born 1483 and married 1509. Not sure anyone cares about that far back but I find interesting even if I don't have birth certificates, etc. and most of them are in VA, not KY at that point.

My brick wall is George Washington Blankenship, son of Peter Blankenship and Nancy Jones. I can prove his parents marriage but because the court house burned down in that county the birth records are lost and there seems to be no death record but I have a pic of his tombstone. He lived 1835-1897. It appears his mother died before 1850 and he was living with Wilson Jones and his wife Sally by 1850. I also am having trouble proving Wilson was Nancy's father although it is logical to assume. His father Peter Blankenship had moved home with his parents by 1850 and George Washington Blankenship was not with them but in the home of Wilson Jones. I even have pics of George Washington Blankenship and his sons, including my great grandfather Alexander Sage Blankenship. Can anyone help with the illusive proof of parentage??

Hello Annette I had a quick question for you I noticed a story on ancestry where you said(or were cited as the source anyhow) John M "Skipper" Potter left in his will Land to John II and Solomon funny little story involving a Cow. My question is would this Solomon Be an ancestor of Absalom F/O Lewis Potter (L.T. Potter)? Absalom and Nancy Potter are my Brick wall I can Theorize that Absalom is Solomon's son given there age and distance in Census reports from Morgan/Cumberland County TN This would be the same Solomon who according to 1880 census of Cumberland county Tn. 10th district listed him Living with the Hamby's (also relatives) at 90+ years old. Maybe not so quick:)
