If you have any difficult to find ancestors, post them in here so that others might help you find them. My brick wall is in my Combs and Fuller lines. I cannot find Martha Combs, mother of Green Fuller b 1875, s/o Elijah Bunt Fuller b 1845. Martha was born about 1858 NC. Don't know her parents, but Elijah Bunt Fuller was s/o Green Fuller 1790 NC and possibly Elizabeth Messer. The family lived in Knott and Pike Counties, KY. Elijah Bunt Fuller and wife were found in the 1850 census. I believe he was the son of Jesse Fuller. Possible sister of Green Fuller 1790 was Elizabeth Fuller. Children of Green Fuller 1790 and wife; Archibald, Robert, Leviticus, Elijah, Mary and Martha. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on my grandmother Mary Holbrook. She is listed in the 1920 census in Letcher County KY, She was married to William Holbrook and the only information I have on her is she was born abt 1879 and died in 1924, there are four children listed in the census in the same household, John Craft , Benjamin Short, Ransom T Holbrook ( which is my dad ) and Simmy Holbrook. The census states that John Craft and Benjamin Short were William Holbrooks stepsons, I am also seeking information on these two children. If anyone has any information on these people, please contact me, I have really hit a brick wall on this family.

For thirty-five years I have been trying to find the Cherokee Ancestry of my great-grandmother Rachel Tuttle who married Henry Thornsberry. She was the daughter of southern baptist preacher William Riley Tuttle and Cynthia Ann Thornsberry. Rachel's son told me that Rachel was not adopted and the whole family claims she was Cherokee and are looking to me to find the proof. I have Cynthia Ann Thornsberry's genealogy back several generations and as far as I know there's no Cherokee Ancestry there so it must be William Riley Tuttle's ancestry. I have a record of him listed as a child in the 1850 census of Smyth County Virginia with his mother Sally (Sarah M.) Tuttle and his grandmother Nancy. Nancy was born 1794 in Virginia, according to this census. Sally was born 1828 in Carolina or Virginia. Her son was born 4 JUL 1855 there and he had a younger brother Gipson on that census. Also living in that household on the census was his aunt Elizabeth and her children. They all moved to Kentucky within ten years. Sally got married in Floyd Co. Ky on Christmas Day 1865 to Daniel Price and so later her children are on the Kentucky census with the last name Price. I think I have searched all the Cherokee Nation rolls and census records available and did not find any Cherokee Rachel under the name Tuttle or Thornsberry, nor any of her known relatives on any Cherokee record. Please email dthornsbury@hotmail.com if you think you have some information that will help. Thank you.

Bentley/Potter Mystery - Pike Co. Ky. It is told that my g-g-grandfather, know to us as Levi Bentley b.1866 d.1923 was not really a Bentley but he was born a Potter and raised by a Bentley family in Eastern Ky. If anyone has heard of a story like this involving the Potters/Bentleys I would love to hear the details. Extensive searches have yielded no results. Thanks so much!

I have two brick walls. Russ M Stewart, Married to Sylvia Putnam, earliest record I can find is the 1930 census of Gothenburg, NE. Born in Iowa. He is my grandfather and that is about all I know about him. He said that after an accident at age 18, the hospital told him his name and birthdate was on his drivers license. I haven't been able to find any Stewart families with a missing Russ or Russel.
The other wall is my other grandfather, Robert A Little. Married to Ellen (who went by Helen) J. Ennis. They had a son, John Daniel born 9Jun1917, I suspect in Medford, OR. By 1920 census of Pocatello, ID John's father is listed as from TN and Robert has divorced Helen and disappears. No one knows where he went nor who his family were. Haven't been able to find records.
I have been absolutely amazed by tracing out my grandmothers genealogy. My children wanted to know, but I only have half of the story.

Greetings Potter Family! I recently decided to create my family tree and am having a great time tracing down my heritage. My g g grandfater, William D. Collier born 1835 on May 9th, has been my brick wall as the 1880 census in Whitesburg, Letcher, Kentucky shows his father was born in Maryland but I've read in your records and one other that his father is Richard Collier who was born in Virginia on May 9th 1796 according to the 1850 census in Letcher county, Kentucky. Richards father, Daniel Collier, according to Family Search Pedigree Resource File was born in Maryland in 1797. I just want to make sure I am following the correct line. Any help is very much appreciated.

Sorry for the error on my last post. Daniel Collier was born in 1765 not 1797.
